Thinking of getting a puppy and need some advice? Got a puppy and want to give it the best start?
We believe that a lot of behaviour problems in older dogs could have been avoided if owners and puppies had had a little helping hand right in the beginning. A puppies greatest learning period is from 4 to 12 weeks of age. It is often during this period, before you are able to enrol you puppy in socialisation and obedience classes, that habits form. Some of these habits can develop into problems as your puppy grows and you might need more intensive and expensive retraining. Our Puppy Start courses will help to equip your puppy from the first day to deal with all of life’s surprises and day to day living. Including basic training, house-training, good food manners, grooming and vet visit preperation and more. Our courses are incentive and reward based. The Puppy Start Course is not a substitute for puppy classes where vital socialisation and interaction skills are learned.
Puppy Start Course
This consists of three home visits. The first to discuss and advise on breed choices. The second visit is the day your new puppy comes home. We will advise and help with basic training and manners. The final follow-up visit is for support and to help with any problems or questions you may have.
If you already have your puppy then the course will consist of two visits. The first to advise and help with basic training and manners. The final follow-up visit is for support and to help with any problems or questions you may have.
Extra follow-up visits and training can be arranged.
